In Search of The Holy Grail...
The weather's starting to pick up a bit and so is my anticipation for this summer's Car Boot Sale shenanigans which will hopefully be better than last season's complete washout.
I'm sure there's more than a few of you out there who enjoy the 5 a.m. start on a sunny Sunday morning as much as I do, trekking round country fields in search of the unknown. The smell of greasy burgers, the fresh dew on the grass f*cking up your trainers, the melting pot of mentalist collectors running round like headless chickens. Nothing better!
For those of you who can relate, check out this beautiful, Patrick Adams penned song by Astrud Gilberto from her 1972 Perception album "Now". Forget the imaginary lover she sings about - replace that sh*t with your Holy Grail vinyl 'want', and you have a near perfect ode to Car Boot Sale digging!
If you see this record on your travels be sure to pick it up, it's a cracker that also features the better known Latin dancer "Take It Easy My Brother Charlie", with a stellar line up of musicians including Mike Longo, Deodato, Bob Cranshaw, Ron Carter, Airto, Al Gaffa and Billy Cobham, etc...

I'm in Pompey end of the month and sown south somewhere for Bank Holiday weekend... that could be 4 DAYS OF DIGGING!!!! It's a bonus that the missus & kids love a booty and I am frothing at the bung to get out there and try to not show my emotion to people when I find that nugget... the vinyl diggers equivalent to the Wonka golden ticket... Really, really can't wait!!!
Yeah, hopefully the weather will hold out.
Give me a bell if you wanna hook up for a Sunday dig.
Cheers - D
